 Indovina
Indovina is a simple board game, released on June 10, 1999.
The aim of the game is simple: find out who
your opponent is amongst the faces you'll see on the Table
Window.
When
you think you have the right guess, just click on the face or write down
it's name. But... you are allowed to click on a face only if there are
less than 3 faces on the table.... so we need to tear off some of
the faces to exclude them from our candidates. This is done by asking
simple questions to your opponent about his physical characteristics;
some examples are: "are you a woman?" or "is your hair brown?" or "are
your eyes big?". The same thing does your opponent, who will ask you questions
about your face and you will have to answer (exactly or not...).
TIP: Indovina is a simple game based on a question/answer basis where
all you have to do is ask the right questions who will permit you to find
out your opponent as soon as possible.
The simple things you need to know to play Indovina are: How to ask/answer
questions, How to check the possible characteristics to ask for,
and how (and when) to make your guess.
How do I ask/answer a question?
As
an example, upon starting a new game (not a network game) your opponent
(the computer) starts the match asking you something about a physical characteristic.
You can read this question in the Game window.
Notice that now all you have to do is give this question an answer.
The possible answers are Yes or No, so the Yes and No buttons
on the Game Window will be lit. Suppose the question to be "is your hair
brown?". Now, give a look at your portrait, look at the colour of your
hair (if you are not sure of what colour your hair is, click on your portrait
and look at the Info Window) and give your
answer by simply typing "yes" or "no" on your keyboard, or by clicking
on the Yes/No Buttons.
Now
it's time for you to ask something to your opponent. you are allowed
to do it in two ways: by typing the question in plain language on
your keyboard, or by using the questions
window:
Whichever method you choose you will get the same result: after your
opponent has answered your question, some of the faces on the table will
be erased. To make another example, if your question was "are you a man?"
and the opponent's answer was "No", then all the men's faces will be erased
from the table.
To
have an idea of what to ask for, remember that Indovina is based upon Physical
characteristics. You may wish, and sometimes need, to check the characteristics
of one or more faces available on the Table. To do so just give a look
at the Info Window.
When one of the two players remains with at least three faces on the
table, he/she may try to make his/her guess. You do this by klicking
on one of the faces on the table or by typing its the name on your keyboard
If the guess is right you won the match, if it's wrong the turn goes
to the opponent.
